Random thoughts for the day

Painted the rims today with duplicolor high performance wheel black with a gloss clear coat, to be honest, I'm not impressed. Looks like plasti dip with glossifier on it. I used rustoleum 2x gloss black for the rest of the chrome trim, turned out awesome, really nice gloss. I wonder if I can sand my rims back down and use that to paint them. Stuff sticks to anything

In another article, he says that water/methanol injection is of "limited value when it comes to reducing carbonaceous buildup in the inlet port and inlet valve surfaces", referring to lubricating oil-related deposits as opposed to fuel deposits.

Walnut blasting media would probably be an easier method than sanding. Any pics by chance?
yea. I'll throw some up in the pics section in the morning. Just pit them on and took the car off the stands tonight. They actually look decent in the car, will look even better when they completely dry and I put a nice coat of wax on.

Damn it, can't believe I'm typing this.  I'm contemplating taking the SHO to CarMax tomorrow to see what they will give me for it.  If they give me $27K or higher, I will probably sell it.  Looking at sheedding debt and gtting $7K of equity in the SHO (owe $20K on it).  They only have one 2013 SHO for sale nation wide, 20k miles for $31K.  Mine has 23k miles.  Could be close.

The F-250 is paid for and I really enjoy driving it.  Don't have to worry about people dinging it or hitting stuff.  Leaves me with only the wife's truck and a camper to pay off and more cash in the savings account.  Definitely will be paying more $$ for gas, as the truck only gets 14mpg vs the SHO's 23 on my commute.

So, kind of hoping CarMax low balls me. lol

After dwelling on the thought, I'm keeping the SHO for at least another year.  Still enjoy getting it in everyday.  When that fades, I'll consider trading it.  Crisis avoided.

yesterday I was reading about how our soundscreen windshields are susceptible to cracks from rocks. well, I get in my car to go to work tonight and there's a big flippin crack starting at the base of the window going right up the middle. i must have gotten it on my trip to memphis and then it grew because of our below normal temps yesterday

Argh!  Another one!  Sorry to hear that :(  Better get a replacement lined up soon if you want OEM available before the crack becomes a chasm ...

I replaced my windshield twice and the car hasn't 20K miles yet...

I spoke to a buddy at Ford and he is trying to track down an original windshield for me cause supposedly there on back order with no eta, wonder if the 10-12 SHO have the soundscreen winshield. Z

well, USAA said it will be 2 weeks before they can get an OEM windshield. I better not get hassled about the crack when going on base... i already have to worry about my driver side brake light not working (new assembly should be here tomorrow). security forces are bored and look for anything to pull you over

Interesting... While I don't allow a wash except by me or my detail guy, I had one of those outfits that hang around car washes replace mine twice with oem soundscreen windshield I never had to wait longer than 48 hrs.

Its official, the Ford oem windshields are on backorder,no eta no nothing, just alot of B.S though and quite frankly getting tired of it all. Z

Thanks Z... This sux as I get a new one about once a year due to projectiles coming out from under lifted trucks and semis... I think I should get a repair started now and insist on oem so that I might get one... And as impetus for a manufacturing run!

I'm not sure what's going on, but fragile windshields seems to be a current issue going on across many newer makes and many models. Google it!
