Re: Future Mods

You guys know even nhra requirements for lug/studs says the nut is only required to engage the stud equal to the width of the stud.
So a 1/2" stud only needs a 1/2" of threads engaged to be legal.

Seems like y'all are scared for no reason... the taurus studs seem way longer than the factory studs in my mustang, they are damn near the length of my arp's

With a 7/16" spacer I got 6 threads of engagement, that is plenty.

So to summarize, people are afraid their "studs" aren't "long enough".

Got it.

How about a Lithionics battery http://www.lithionicsbattery.com/ ?  Save weight, more electrical power, more efficient conversion from alternator, ... Saw this on HorsepowerTV http://www.powerblocktv.com/episodes/HP2013-10/coyote-powered-racer .  Even a little reserve for instances where lights are left on etc.

They look pretty impressiove, but should be....with prices starting around $675.00 up to $1,600.00 for these batteries, they would have to be really special, since they really aren't priced to market to the average consumer.

I recently replaced my battery in my Brick.  I went with the largest cranking amp, top of the line Motorcraft battery from local Ford dealer.  Was under $140..  Great replacement and prorated warranty.  Very happy with it.

Yea if I wanted a mini batt id go with a braille, have an 11.5lb carbon fiber Braille in the mustang and I love it... cranks a 11.1:1 compression v8 with ease, even in winter.
Only negative is no reserve power, so no listening to radio while changing oil or similar.
