Shell nitro + gas

+/- 5% is considered the max in the best of conditions, need be concerned only when they exceed 10%.  Per bank, stft + ltft should be under 20% max.
Lol, lets just say I exceeded that greatly on the 2013 and had no issues with cels or dtcs.....

There is a good section on this in the obd troubleshooting guides you linked to yesterday.

Something else everybody needs to check out on the 2015 guide, they added a section on the dreaded MEGAKNOCK!

Continuous for a bit, it took about an hour for the trims to settle and even then I was exceeding +25 LTFT in spots the entire tank.

Noticed yesterday that my LOR dropped from -1.0 to -0.85 for no reason, bad gas? Also did noticed some higher than normal KR readings, as low as -2.0 and as high as +1.5. I still am not too clear on the KR readings as I don't know much about them, but I do remember reading that negative KR is good? So I assume positive is bad?

I did find a station here in Chicago that is carring this new Nitro+ gas. Put about half tank yesterday. Let's see if the LOR reading goes back to -1.0.

You are correct that "negative" knock is good...it means it is able to add timing.  Positive knock is "bad" but 2 degrees isn't a big deal.  My LOR typically only changes if I get some sustained knock at low boost levels (i.e. lugging up a hill in 6th) and it may drop back a little but its rare. It recovers pretty quick on its own usually.  That is on straight 93 - if I mix in a gallon of E85 or so it rarely ever knocks and LOR never moves off of -1!

A change in LOR doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem especially when you are using  "new formulation". The ecm may just need a minute to get it sorted.

averaged 27.5 mpg going from cleveland to cedar point yesturday in my 2010 mks using shell 93 nitro+ gas. This is calculated from the gas station to the parking lot (65-75mph highway) and side streets. very impressed actually  :thumb:
