Shift earlier for TQ.. thoughts this experiment ?

well, that was fun.. yet perplexing.

it appears the TINY loss of HP negates the lower rpm and TQ range.  It is posting the same 0-60 as before .. despite shifting 500+ rpm early.

All things considered i will leave it there for now since it is NOT impacting performance when shifting sooner.

hrmpf...

Need to test 0-100 next but conditions were not good for that today.

What are you getting 0-60? And are you break boosting or just mashing the gas? (On my phone, can't look at the log)

Just got done reading his logs from an earlier post. No brake boost(1100 rpm) netted high 4's low 5's on the 0-60. This was shifting around 5900 rpms. Can't seem to view the latest .zip file of logs he posted tho

Sadly i am only getting 4.8 - 5.1.  which also perplexes me a smidge.  I am wondering how accurate the LiveLink readings are.

On the second set the 1st 3,4 were pedal flips,  no boosting.  At the end there are two brake boosted launches.

i am a tad bit worried i am not going to be in the 12's at any point.  in some of my late datalogs my 0-110 mph test runs were over 13. :\

maybe my expectations were set wrong ?

You aren't high elevation right? I cant remember.

I fully expect for you to be 12's maybe even mid 12's ...your spark is on the high end for pump gas compared to some ive seen

Id launch around 2k and let it eat...it may spin and squeal but ymwith awd you should maintain good forward momentum

With sub 2.0 60' and a 110 trap you should be deep into 12's

Hopefully you have a day or night where ambiant temps are less than 70 and iat's are too bad

If your dynojet corrected numbers are high 300's and tq is mid to high 400's id say you have to run 12's

Glock coma here on the forum ran high 12's with a 2 bar tune if mine

Could be environment related.. your could be timing yourself with a really crappy DA going on.... lots of factors... I notice the ambient is in the low 40's.. could be traction off the line.. looks like a bit of wheel spin...

I don't go upto 110mph on the street.. but my 0-90 is about 8 seconds launching with Brads tune... my 0-60's are about 4.4 - 4.5 seconds just mashing the pedal.. 4.0 to 4.1 seconds break boosting...

I also have quite a few more mods than you do... and those times were done a good day with temps in the 60's....

Eugene Oregon is 430-elevation
Portland is Frikken almost seal level at 30 :)  that will help a smidge.

I may end up finding another dyno :\  Only getting 298hp out of 383ftlbs just seems weird to me...  that just doesn't math right.

I agree, AJP is a the man!
Very happy with his tune

I am also racing on Friday (only a 1/8th mile track though)

We can compare 1/8th miles

I have an AJP tune as well
He didn't tell me how much spark in total he has in my tune, i'll ask him now.
But im on 93 pump gas

My last 1/8 mile with a canned SCT tune was 8.5 im hoping to get in the very low 8's this time around

The best advice i can give is to work on your launches. Find the highest rpm you can launch at without breaking the traction limit or triggering any traction or torque control from the ECU. First time i had this car at the track i didn't know how to launch it correctly. I've since cut 3-4/10ths from my 0-60 time strictly form practicing a good brake boost launch. For reference my 0-60 time for my 91oct tune is around 4.7-4.8 and my best from my E20 tune is 4.35.
I'm also @ 5500ft elevation and have to launch at 2300rpm to build any boost though so not exactly apples to apples.

I am a ways out as AJP and I need to go back and tune for my new downpipes, but once the tune is more dialed in I plan to run a dyno up here.  I have not contacted them to verify what brand it is, but I have made contact with one here in Tacoma I am hoping to use.  We could maybe talk to them about booking both at the same time?  Sent you a PM, let me know.

hmm this i can log and read.. what data elements should i focus on ?

What year is your SHO?

If you have DMR functionality the car will tell you how much torque its making.
