SM105K's Ownership/Performance/Maintenance Thread

Solid plan and having such will give you very precise findings for comparison.  Sometimes I think many of us tend to do comparisons that aren't as detail oriented and so what is the quality of our results to compare?  I think your plan is well thought out.

I can tell you this I dropped close to 17lbs per corner off my set up. I also installed mounts. My 0-60 times on 93 datalogging on the street are almost the exact same as my race gas tune at the track. I get zero wheel hop and almost no spin now. I also went from having a 265 tire down to a 245.

That is very promising.  Those mounts are coming into today.  I need to do some testing before I throw them in.

New Rims as it sits::

0 to 60 at 40 psi in the all tires. Record findings.

Then drop the fronts to 26 and redo the 0 to 60 pull. Record findings.

Add the mounts:

Repeat both tests.

Add DP's and New Tune:

Repeat both tests..

Add should give me some damn good data.

Trim is ready for pick up, looks like I will put her fully back together tonight if everything goes well.  I might even have time to get all of those tests in, since the mounts have been said to be easy to get in.

Looking good buddy!  That simppe visual mod is going to drastically change the appearance!  And the mounts are easy but the rear one almost seemed not doable...until I had to think more...then it was ok.

Mounts legit took me 15 mins with a ratcheting 15mm wrench. But I don’t have stock downpipes either. I hear they can be a bitch with those in still. Wait until you launch the car. My god the 1/2 shift under acceleration is 100 times better. I used to think my dashboard was going to fall out on a 1/2 shift at the track. Now it feels like a 3/4 shift.

Yeah I am really excited about the mounts.  Everyone that has them, loves them so yeah.  I am going to try and knock all off this out tonight.  I will have some work on the spoiler, stiil have too fully paint correct that as well.  It shouldnt take me too long though.

It took me 15 min to resign myself to going little by little with just a regular 🔧.....not everyone has fancy tools Tim...wait..a ratcheting wrench is pretty standard...guess my tool chest sucks

Trim prep and paint prep took most of my time. Plus after the gym and the heat...I didn't finish lol.

I have the trunk and lights put back together. The whole front is also together. Working on the sides today.

Teaser...

Looking really nice Easton!  IMHO the car should have been like that from the factory.

Thanks Andrew.  I will at least get the trim done today.  My cafe closes early, but the heat is really zapping me.  I am in alot of recovery debt right, with such a caloric deficit lol.

I agree, the chrome on these are terrible.  Once all the trim is back on, I will hit it and the all of the skirting with The Last Coat and the car should really pop.

I have trouble posting numerous pics at once...so here.

Here are a couple of pics it will let me post.

Congratulations that is IMO a perfect cosmetic upgrade along with the wheels that drastically changed the entire look of your SHO.  It's very clean and very well done.  You didn't skimp either, you pulled all the trim, fender name plates, grille and had them professionally painted to color match.  Not many can say they have done that.  I also like the look of all the trim blacked out but I did vinyl before...having them painted is a step above.  The car looks like something that would show up if I didn't pay a loan shark back on time....Id imagine something like that stalking me.  Mafia type $hit haha!  Looks like no play all business!

Hahaha Mafia SHO.  Yeah I have over 12 hours just on the trim. Removal, prep, getting them painted, and then re-installation. They cut my hands up, frustrated me, and made but at the end, it came out just as good as I hoped. I love the rims. They really go hand in hand with the trim.

The upgraded trans mounts are amaxing.  The shifts are amazing esp the second to third shift.  The feel and sound from them is amazing. Yes the sound. I found myself, just driving without the radio on yesterday.

The car really makes me happy now, and in the limited time I driven it, people really stare now.  If I didn't have limo tinted windows I would be uncomfortable.

I do want the billet grill set ups too, so maybe down the road.  However I am really happy.

Only thing truly majorly left is turbos and fuel pump...

Car looks awesome buddy. Love what you did with the trim and wheels. All the hard work was totally worth it.
