Smoking Out The Exhaust

It does make sense especially if this was your first time in a while at the car wash, the high pressured water could of entered anywhere in the engine, just like SHOdded mentioned earlier possibly water inside the CAC with the mixture of oil contributed to your issues.Z.

U waited in line for an hour at the car wash?...are u against washing it yourself lol...where are we heading...
All that happens when i wash it is I get pissed off at the new scratches, dings, and rock chips that I find.

If I wanted to be annoyed, I would just go to work.

LOL

As much as I am certain I will feel the same way someday, I hope I don't ever get there.
I'm definitely on my way. Really not becasue I don't enjoy detailing. But as far as prioritizing goes, it really falls to the wayside these days. The bad part about it is, I don't hire anybody. They just stay dirty.

I have 5 vehicles now, between the wife and myself. At least one of them has to go.
Sounds like the wife has got to go.....

ZSHO, i understand what your saying but the car usually get a wash every week. I personally think there is a serious problem because the car has done its smoking out the exhaust 3 times now since the car wash incident and if a little water got in anywhere it would have been gone by now. I went to the dealer this morning on the way to work, i'm going to drop it off in the next couple days, since it also has the timing chain rattle on a cold start so i'm thinking we can kill two birds with one stone. I think i'm going to push hard for a new engine, we will see how that go's......

Make sure they check your ECU. I was told about a flex that went through 2 fully dressed engines and cats before they found out the ECU was killing them.

Ok, so two items for your dealership visit:  turbo seals, and timing chain (stretch).  POSSIBLY, a cracked block, but not at that point I think.

Any updates?

I dropped the flex off at the dealer this morning, i shall soon find out if they are going to do anything. I don't think it is the turbos, i pulled the air filter out and it was saturated in oil, and so it all of the intake tubes. Its so bad its seeping out of all the connections at the hose clamps and running down all over the rear turbo. About 8 months ago i did have the oil separator and the rear valve cover changed out due to consuming oil per TSB

Ooooo, that's NOT good!  Hope they get it fixed right this time.  Have them check the intercooler too.  Flow/Pressure's messed up somewhere ...

I just received a call from the service writer from the dealer telling me that they can not get the car to reproduce the knock at start up or any smoke out of the exhaust. Well this is absolutely misdiagnosed or an easy way out because i drive this car everyday and absolutely positively has these problems. Should a car with 27,000 miles on it burn a quart of oil every 1000 miles? absolutely not! I'm PISSED!

Try talking to the service manager, or dealership manager maybe.  Else take it to another dealership for look-see.  Still no good?  Talk to Ford National Customer Service to escalate the issue.

Wait...

What was the explanation for the oil saturated air filter?

And I suppose they thought oil in the intake piping was normal?

Yes, they said it was normal to have a little oil in the intake tubes. I know differently, there should be no oil at all in the intake system. This it more then likely a blow by issue. I guess i'm going to have to play hardball with these yahoo's.

Is there another dealer you can go too?

Yes there is , its just not as easy as the close to work dealership that my car is currently at .

Did you happen to show to them that video? That should be proof enough!

I'd wager that just inherent to design, there will be oily residue throught the intake tract, downstream of the PCV system or other vent systems, if present. However, an oversaturation is obviously abnormal.

Might there be another dealer to try?

Yes i did, i showed the video to the service writer, the service manager and the tech that's working on it. Honestly the tech doesn't know his his you know what to a hole in the ground and i don't believe he is knowledgeable enough to make a diagnoses on my car, funny because he walked me over to a non ecoboost flex this morning and wanted to start it up and compare it to my flex and i told your comparing apples to oranges, but he just didn't understand. there are other dealers, im in Los Angles.... but this one is so convenient for me
