I just had a simple question to rule out, there is no oil catch can setup in your car that you know of,perhaps from the previous owner.Z

Yeah it'a no fun having to go to the "boonies" for good service!

Sometimes that is where the better tech's are that know how to actually diagnose without a computer code to guide the way. ;-)

Maybe I'm overstepping my OT boundaries, but can we see the Galaxie?

It's an old project that I originally bought and drove back in the mid 80s which I need to pull out of the garage to get a decent picture of.  As soon as I have a chance I'll take one and post it.
:-)

Well I brought the Flex to the car wash and low a behold it smoked light a freight train again........ except for this time i pulled over and had my son rev it and i took a video. Looked to be a mixture of condensation and blue smoke and smelled like burnt oil.......  Its to bad the service department was closed yesterday because i was right down the street. So now I'm thinking that some water is getting in the stock air box soaking the air cleaner then water is going through the intake system taking all the oil that i have in the intake system with it through the engine and out the exhaust..... Maybe just thinking out loud. But if this is the case... why did it just start to do this? i have been going to the same car wash since the car was new

Did you ever get a car fax history report?any visible signs of uneven gaps around the hood area, also check the mouldings under the hood cause overtime they get brittle due to heat exposure and let unwanted water inside the engine bay, same goes for the cowl cover under the windshield.Z

Yes i did before i purchased it, Carfax and auto check, no accidents. no abnormal gaps around the hood.

I was also having the smoke/oil smell issue. My buddy said it looks like one of the turbos is leaking so he ordered me a new one. He said he'll have a better idea once it's apart. Thank god for loaner cars!!
