So,... Challenger Hellcat...

according to challenger forum, emissions trouble was when dodge tried to get 825hp out of her. at 707hp passing emissions & being licensed in multiple states as dodge starts making deliveries, several already delivered.

wow.. with numbers like that, I wouldn't be gloating that the hellcat is the fastest muscle car ever if I were Dodge.

Agreed. Seems like there will be some butt hurt owners when they race a GT500.
Or BPD on race gas....

I was really hoping to get out to the track this year, before Season's end.

Just wasn't able to coordinate schedules.

I am eagerly looking forward to the 2015 opener though, to help elevate the Ecoboost platform into the record books respectively.

Hopefully others won't be too far behind me. :ok:

Well, if things goes as planned for the guy I became friends with at my local dragstrip, he will have a Hellcat for next season.  He is trading his '13 GT500 due to clutch issues.  He has had 4 clutches put in it.  Said he bought it to run it, not just for a Sunday driver.  So I will find out first hand how the powertrain holds up.

The fact these American production vehicles are pumping out close to a 1000 horsepower just has me in awe, we've came a long way.

This is what has me curious. What will these things produce modded? Can they handle it too?

Well this round of mods (still dialing in tune) should put me around 1100WHP and solid low 9's.
If that's not enough we're doing a twin turbo kit on the car in the next 3-4 months for 1500HP setup.... Hoping for low 8's/high 7's with that combo, going to have to do some crazy stuff for that setup though. :)

That's what an LSx big block will getcha :)  That's why I've been hoping somebody does a twin turbo 5L setup ... now that a Mustang has an EB, who knows, it just might happen!

Hard to blame you. Fast and cheap are hard to ignore.

you're right. Base price for a gt500 is 56k. Definetly in the same range... Maybe the new gt500 will get a similar tranmission to keep up with this badass. Maybe some better tires too.... Not to dis Chevy but the ZL1 is got a long way to catch up. Perhaps if they use the ZR1 tune maybe it could be comparable.

You know drag times are cool and all but driving in a straight line is.... just that.

Ford is gearing the gt500 towards curves. Which I'd much rather have it be capable of. Just a tune on the gt500 will net well over 700hp. I wouldn't get all caught up in this production number of 707.

Someone with a 10k build  could pull 9 ' s in a straight line. It's the curves that prove a car.

That's just what people say when their car is slow.  :)
