So, was driving my car the other morning, and my Synch 3 spontaneously rebooted while I was driving!  My car is only a few months old.

Has anyone else seen this happen?

I've had it happen once after owning for a month but haven't had it happen again

That's basically just Sync updating itself, similar to (maintenance mode) with the black screen thats lasts for a few min and no need for alarm unless there are DTC set.
There is a TSB,SSM on the APIM interface module protocol.  Z

TSB #SSM-45809
NHTSA ID #10078984
Date Announced:
MAY 09 2016
Additional Info:
How to Fix
Summary: SYNC 3 ACCESSORY PROTOCOL INTERFACE MODULE (APIM) DTCS U3000 OR B108E OR U1A00

So, Z, pretend I'm new, pretend I just got my car on 9/30 and have NO clue what all those acronyms are.  In other words, "Huh?"  LOL!

I would start off by login/setup your Ford account and check for any such recalls
https://owner.ford.com/tools/account/maintenance/recalls/results.html

If you have an Sct you can check for any DTC'C related to the above mentoned post.  Z
The APIM module is located behind the front screen and might just need updating so basically a dealer visit might be necessary to fix any issues you are experiencing if any codes are present otherwise would not worry .Z
I would also return to stock tune.

Here's a PDF to give you an inside perspective on the procedure involved on the warranty extension covering the (APIM)software 12M02 for the 11-14 models, hope it helps any.  Z
