I would love to make the trip, it's a bit of a drive but I would make it.

That is the best video about the road..... kinda scares some people, but it gives you a good idea of what you are in for. really not the best road if you don't know what you are doing.
 
ShoBoat.... that would be pretty awesome if you made the trip from Canada all the way to East Tennessee.  I will tell you.... it will be worth your time, $$, and energy.

12 hours isn't sooooo bad... haha. You could stay a few days and drive some real roads while you are here

My Buddy owns Killboy.com  he takes pictures of everyone that comes up there.  I can let him know when we will be through, and we can set up a sweet photoshoot with waterfalls in the background.  He also has a drone that he flies and takes video, and photos from the air, which would make for a pretty epic SHOwing......
 
Would really love to come down there,while i still have these summer tires on,the wife would love the scenery,by the way congrats on the new baby,LOL.

We're (better half also) coming for sure!!! Looking to target mid to late September and surprise her as its her birthday then.

Tell her to pop some motion sickness meds before you get started.... my wife won't ever go up there again because she got so sick! Lol. She never got car sick before I took her up there.... haha

There is always Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge. Dollywood theme park. Cades cove is a beautiful drive where you have a real good chance of seeing bear, deer, and all kinds of animals.
