This is what an ecoboost Flex looks like when it's running out of fuel

Review this log, pay attention to the following in the log:
1. Throttle body is closing  as AFR is rising
2. Fuel pump duty cycle stays at .48, never changes
3. Fuel pump module duty cycle varies but never hits 100%
4. Fuel pump percentage stays at 48 as well (looks like same as duty cycle just *100)

What's missing is we can't log fuel rail pressure, Torque can do it now but Livelink can't that pid as far as what I've seen, I'll have to look again soon.

You can now clearly see what happens when a car goes lean, it saves it self, over and over and over.
Thank god it does or I would have blown the motor. This was a log when I was testing the aux fuel system but it wasn't activating.

Interesting tech info.

It would be cool to see if either....

A.) Livernois Motorsports
B.) Darreli or
C.) FirstSHO

Can post similar data as it has been reported by each of the three, that (with the Methanol) they have NOT run out of fuel, or have gone lean as this data would indicate.

This is where I wish we had one of those popcorn emoticons so I can sit back & watch the resulting convo unfold (while enjoying said popcorn).

Mmmmm yum.

I've asked for them to not run meth, and log. I can guarantee they are out of fuel on the stock fuel system.

Well then I would suspect that you're skewing the data then as it relates to your own usage of E85 (as an alternative fueling source).

I would suspect that by running either (Methanol, or E85) that in either scenario, neither one of you will, or potentially would be, "running out of fuel".

I would agree that utilizing merely the stock fuel source(s) on pump gas alone, that yes indeed, fuel will be an issue.

But introduce an alternative fuel source, IN ADDITION TO the use of pump gas, I suspect it the issue is no longer as grave of a concern.

In my opion meth systems are not reliable as a required fuel source AND you can't run nearly as much timing with meth and 93 as you can with E85/91 or 93. There's also quite a bit more power available in comparison.
How can I extrapolate that I have more power?
Well Darrelli and First-SHO are both at 12.0X or so with their cars, I just ran a 12.4 at considerably higher DA with over 500lbs more weight in my car. Between the DA and the weight I ran a faster time than they did with a worse 60ft. That's with my smaller turbos and less boost.
I'd love to see a data log from their cars just to see boost and timing that they are running as a comparison to either prove or disprove my theory.
Once I convert over to the dual in tank fuel pumps and get rid of the aux fuel cell and fuel pump the system the system will be much simpler to install. Just upgrade ITFP, run some fuel lines to the front of the car. Attach 4 wires to the FMU and wire new injectors and install the new intake with injectors. I would say 4-6 hours total installation time and no bumper pulling required for the meth kit. No possibility for the pump not to prime, no leaky meth injectors or clogged lines and no hunting for meth or mixing meth.
I need to verify with the upgraded in tank fuel pump we can run full E85 in the fuel tank without running out of high pressure fuel pump. Worst case you're doing what I do now, looking at the gas gauge and adding 50/50 gas/E85 to top it off. This proposition also takes into account that you would need E85 at the pump readily available in your area. I'm lucky it's right down the street from my house. 8)
I'll keep wrenching on it and see what happens. :) Hopefully my mad scientist ways along with the upcoming ATP turbo kit will see me in the low 11's or 10's next year.

We could steal it from SHOforum.com, or ask the moderators nicely for permission?

For the record 4DR.....

I LOVE your crazy, scientific quirkiness & mannerisms.

Muahahahahahahaha :crazy1:

I said I would log it without methanol, but I would detune it because of the safety it provides from detonation with timing. That wouldn't really be comparing apples to apples.

I think with audio equipment, we may be at a similar weight. DA's maybe, maybe not. I havent had anything less than 3000ft in a while.

I plan on posting a bunch of datalogs up soon. Waiting for the enhanced parameters from Drew Tech

I keep forgetting you don't have an SCT so you can't data log with livelink.
Try datalogging with Torque and email it to yourself. :)
At least with torque you can datalog fuel rail pressure, SCT you can't.
