doesn't seem like there's enough aftermarket parts to really increase the power output to worry about it too much just yet. I'm disappointed we can't increase out power output by 200-300 hp with upgrade turbos and fuel mods. I mean GTR's make +1000 with TTV6...... doesn't seem like the upgrade turbo cars picked up all that much for what it is.

I wonder if there might be a better torque converter for us ever ?

The parts are coming .... although slowly , GDI injectors from Deatschwerks
.....

how much added capacity ~30 % ? I'm curious at to what our current tunes could do with these, or if these will be enough to support 100% E85 ?

Not sure about E85 , but 25 % more capacity .

PA, Performance Automatic, is a great company. I had one of their 4r70's in my 2005 Mustang and it performed flawlessly on the street and the strip. It would be great if they did something for the SHO. Circle "D" is another great outfit that does great stuff with torque converters.

Agreed, pa is a solid company... 4r70w been out for a decade+
Its just an old 4sp trans Ford used on modular engines, rwd only. They can be made to hold tons of power.

Sadly this will help us none... but the more companies involved the better

Interesting but I'd like to know what the performance upgrades that where done to the trans

Only mentions 6f55 once, every other mention is 6f50 only.

Im wondering if they basically rebuild 50 with 55 parts and reman the tc.

One thing found out from my buddy that works at the plant that builds these transmissions. The cases are different between 6f50 and 6f55. There are extra webbings cast into the 6f55 so a 6f50 could never be a suitable replacement for the 6f55.

As for now the known limits are when it goes boom! When it goes boom is uncertain, only ford engineer could truly answer that question as for now.

I am hearing that LMS has a fuel upgrade coming......  Not sure how or with what they are getting it, but I am in line for this with the new engine.....

I have also been told that the trans is the next weak link.  I don't drive too hard off the line, so I am hopeful the stocker will last......??

We shall see!!??

Were close to releasing the billet version of the stall converter for these, .5 sec plus reduction in 1./4 mile times.  Mike will have the details.
