Were close to releasing the billet version of the stall converter for these, .5 sec plus reduction in 1./4 mile times.  Mike will have the details.
That is great news!  First I've heard of anything like this after the custom Circle D darreli was running.

Very interested to see results from this experiment. Half of second is absolutely huge in the 1/4 mile.

Now we need to determine the strength of the halfshafts and the gears/clutch packs :D

I was kinda thinking the same thing , the Police Interceptors with the 3.5 ecoboost are starting to break the half shafts on a regular bases ....

The po po are lead foot's and hard on cars .....

Darrell Stamper, who worked exclusively with Circle D on his modified, higher stall TC actually LOST nearly .5 of a second in the 1/4 following install. Darrell's opinion only, post install, was that he wished he would've put his money elsewhere.

Attempts were made to compensate for this loss through tuning, but I am unaware of how successful those efforts were, as Darrell has been oddly silent for some time. :dunno:

As such, it will be interesting to see how your claims of GAINING .5 of a second will actually pan out in a real world application.

Do you know what power levels they are running, SR?  Surely they are not at stock levels like the general SHO buying public.  Also, is it on ALL years of the Gen IV/V SHO?

The shafts then PTU and trans worry me the most.  If there were after market shafts available I would definitely drive harder than I do.

The police interceptors are the same power as stock.  Ecoboost twin turbo at 365/350 .  They're using the 3.7L non turbo now as a base model to.

"Stock"  , technically no mods are allowed  .....  according to a certain Ford Service manager . At this point it is on 13 model years in the fleet , they dont have any other earlier ones .

Tuner Boost:  Keep us posted!  That is a HUGE reduction to 1/4 mile times!

My car is at Livernois, and is ready for any upgrades to ensure more longivety!

Thanks

Mike

Mine just recalled for RH half shaft issues. :(

Do the converters on these lock up under WOT? The chip in my other car allows me to set the lockup speed under WOT to compensate for the extra slippage I'd normally see. I have it set to lockup at 80 right now. I think my lockup clutches are shot though, it doesn't lock up even under normal cruising any more.  :(
