Transmission went last night

I can see that this is a problem that could easily pass inspection, but then not pass 10,000 miles later.  Just need the retaining clip to work it's way to the wrong position over time and then you have a problem.

Reminds me of the differential pins in the old SHO's that weren't peened properly.  My '89 made it to 23x,000 miles before it wiggled loose and had a catastrophic failure.

Okay, so the service advisor called me and confirmed it was a busted front axle.  My car will be down for a week since they have to ship the parts to here in Honolulu.  He said it's covered under the power train warranty, so that's good too.  Thanks for all the help!

Haha thanks guys.  Yeah the service advisor is pretty cool.  When he called me to tell me what broke and that it was covered under the power train warranty, he then said in a jokingly voice, "You're launching it too hard.  You gotta ease up on the launch, or start looking for some aftermarket half shafts or something." I told him, "Launching it?  I don't know what you're talking about...  As far as aftermarket half shafts, I don't think anyone makes those for this car."  He said, "Well I know you said you're on the forums, so if you see something like that, you should get it.  I know those help out on the Cobras."  Yeah he's cool.

Hopefully the car is ready soon.  It sucks trying to make arrangements with my family with only one car.  Trying to avoid spending money on a rental.
