What have you done to your Ecoboosted vehicle today?

Didn't you change the PTU fluid not long ago, wasinger?
Yeah this is the second time now. I changed it about 10 months ago. I'm putting in this pretty stuff.

This PTU is like a gear oil black hole. I took out 10oz the first time then put in 16oz about 10 months ago. Now I only got out 9oz but put in 17oz.

It must get so hot it vaporized the oil because this math does not add up. Lol.

At least you can get more in. I can only get out about the same amount (9oz.) But that is all I can get back in. I'm almost positive I am on the bottom though. I am worried that it got hot enough at some point to turn some of it into a paste and I can't get that out....

I think my factory fill reached the beginning paste phase. That's why I'm changing it now. In hopes that the RP oil washed the paste off in the last 10 months. I'm going to change it again in June before my trip so we will see what it looks like.

Kerosene (or a similar thinner, ATF?) can be your friend, if you are willing to let your PTU gargle it :)

Gosh those rotors are so pretty. Got a link?

Is there a break in process?

Wilson
Thx.

I ordered the EBC slotted rotors and red stuff pads from Auto Anything. If you're looking to get them fast. I paid the premium to have rotors shipped, they threw the pads in no charge....brake kit showed up 25 hours after I ordered it.

Big thumbs up to Auto Anything

Rich
What's your reason to go with the red stuff over the yellow?
Strictly made this decision on not being able to put bright yellow pads on.

Wow that PTU fluid looks funky...good call on the change.

Rich

2,668.8 haha. I've come to the realization that the ptu oil is a biweekly thing. I might drain it, fill with meth, spin the wheels a few times then drain it.

Modified my Air Raid box to seal totally against the hood, insulated it and took it to PBI Raceway tonight. In 83 degree heat my 2012 ran 12.660 at 108.49.  Real Happy!

Real solid time in the heat. Congrats

Rich

I had some shifting issues for a couple of months now,it would hesitate going from drive to reverse then back to drive,it would take a second or two to fully engage,if i was in a hurry and pressed the gas to hard while shifting gears it would feel like a thump noise coming from the trans or the RDU,after cleaning the throttle body and intake a few days ago and found it full of carbon,it remedied my symptoms and its shifting better than ever, hope this helps someone . Really nice times ... what are you mods ?

BFGs installed ... have to say night and day difference with this tire. Feels really smooth and grips really well . Stalled to 2300 and would make them break loose . Went with 255 45 20

are you lowered? I'm running 255 also but my rear fender gap looks much higher than yours.
