What have you done to your Ecoboosted vehicle today?

Sent in a 10,383 mi sample of motor oil (Amsoil SS 5W/30) to Blackstone today. Getting a little uncomfortable, as that is the longest OCI I've ever done, LOL. Anxious to see the results.

Amsoil claims 15,000 mi service in severe duty applications (which includes turbocharged). We'll see... #Science

I don't think 15K will be advisable, based on testing on an Edge that is driven 4-6 hrs at a time.  Although it was using 0W20, which is not as good a product as their 5W30.

Before I go further, let me say that I glanced through the vendors here and didn't see blackstone. If they are supporters of this site, I apologize and please remove. Blackstone falls short on a couple things, in my OPINION, I have no desire to start some oil debate. You really need to be keeping a eye on fuel dilution among other things if your going for extended OCI's. Blackstone uses flashpoint to base their fuel dilution numbers, I wouldn't trust that. They do not test for oxidation. You should get a TBN number if your having analysis, you have to request that and it's a extra $10. The fuel dilution alone is enough for me since I'm testing diesels and the ecoboost. A lot of you seem to love Amsoil, I believe they prefer Polaris Labs. I heard this was hashed out on NASIOC forum and blackstone finally quit even responding to the fuel dilution issue. Not trying to bash any company, just passing what I've learned. If your research proves me wrong in any way, please post so that anyone using the search function will get accurate information. I'm just going off what I deem to be reliable sources.

Certainly if you want to do a deep dive, TAN is the number you want, along with TBN.  The crossover point is important.  Fuel dilution and coolant in oil are both important given the nature of direct injection and the duratec lineage.  You CAN get more detailed chemistries, but what we normally see is the most widely used/affordable.

Assembled and test fit an aluminum motorcycle hauler. It looks super wide in the photo, but it's actually the same width as the vehicle. I'm in the market for a dirt bike and wanted to be prepared for the deal of a lifetime. Added some reflective tape for good measure. :)

$38 with the pail.... $35 if I bring my own pail... or $7 a gallon.
For the newby, I am guessing that is for your meth habit?

Ha! Not a habit yet... just getting the needed materials before the kit shows up...tune should be ready by Monday... kit should show up around then too...

Figuring it can't be harder than wiring up sound systems, car alarms, or remote starts...

I did my 1st performance test with the Livewire.  Ran a 0-60test from stop @ idle single foot and ran 4.56sec.
That is with no weight removal, fully stock'13 with over 3/4 tank of fuel.

Thinking might shave a little bit off if I boost brake start, but I was pleased that it ran that quick.
