BTW- I ordered some heavy duty PTFE Thread Seal Tape for the Alky Meth lines and some gaffers cloth tape to secure the ignition coil wires as per Ocd! Lol.. Z

Isnt the SP578 suppose to replace the sp542?


I know the 580 replaced the 534 but haven't seen much info on the 578.

Correct, from my Ford rep, they are factory SHO heat range (1 range hotter than the 542s)... Based on the part number, they appear to also be Platinum not Iridium.

So I also ordered some 542s off Amazon a few days ago. They showed up but they shipped the "replacement" 578s....grrrrr. Back they go.
