3 Bar sensor

4Dr is much more qualified to get into the nuts and bolts of fueling than I.  Check for his write-ups.  Basically it boils down to more boost=more fuel needed.  Especially at higher RPMs.
2013's seem to have higher FRP.

LPFP runs 10 PSI higher.

More info in the consolidated fueling thread

FMCS... Do you have a gauge ion the car or is it on a tuner.  If it's a gauge where did you get it? This could be useful.

I understand hence my prior question :) hopefuly it's not an issue with the 13's as I'm anxiously awaiting the Xv1 tune but I wont do it if I have to worry about a high rpm lean condition under high boost !!!!!!!!!!!!!! yikes !!!!!

maybe part of LMS's delay in releasing the tune to everyone.

Could be.

I want to go LMS for the tune....  But this issue needs to be solved. Even if the FRP is higher on the 2013 3.5s as some have reported, I'd worry about burning up the engine if the throttle cut out from the ECU was disabled.

I'm with you.  I already have the 3 bar MAP sensor (not installed), but after this cold weather issue I'm not sure I'm going to ever use it.  When my FRP dropped with 93v6 tune at 4300 rpm on WOT, I can't tell if it's running out of fuel or the ECU is cutting it because of knock or being too rich.  I will say that the 93v7 tune is running more lean and I'm not having the FRP drop issue as much.  Exhaust pipes aren't even getting black anymore.  I don't don't think the 93v7 is perfect yet, as I'll get hesitation once in a while on WOT, but it's very little, and mostly when engine isn't warm yet.

I have a bluetooth OBDII adapter and run Torque Pro on my android phone

I have the 93v7 in mine too and noticed that same hesitation when the engine wasn't completely warmed up. I don't step on it too hard until the engine / oil is warmed up so that surprised me. I thought maybe it was beasue of the unusually much cooler temps outside already this far south in Houston TX. I thought maybe all the cooler air = more boost causing spark blow out, or more boost than my 2 bar MAP could properly read ???? I still need to regap my plugs :) My SHO runs strong in the mid range then falls off in the higher rpms. I need to check on the black tail pipe thing and my MPG. Is it more lean at cruise rpm / throttle ? should = more MPG ??? but like you said forget it it it's unsafe on the engine. I have a recall on my fuel pumps I need to get fixed too I get a fuel smell from the pass back side of my SHO that makes me more paranoid.

I'll be tuning my '13 SHO in a few months.  I only have 91 near me.  Would a 3Bar be beneficial with 91 if I go with LMS or Unleashed?

Trying to get my mods planned out.  I don't want to go crazy.  Just tune and down pipes for this guy.

The DPs will augment the 3BAR turbo mapping by getting turbo spooling earlier.

...And yes... 3BAR and a tune adjusted for it will make an appreciable difference.  :burnout:  I can only address factually the change with LMS.  I have v8 with DP, T-stat, and 3BAR adjustments. Unleashed also has 3BAR adjustments.

It is worth as much as a .47 sec lowering of the time in the 1/4 mile and will likely give you a sub 4 sec (improved over 4.2-4.3 sec) 0-60 time compared to the same tune without a 3BAR.... 2 minutes, 1 screw, 1 electrical plug... plus it's right on top of the mainifold... easy.  Times quoted are with LMS tunes on SHO and MKS from '10 - '14.

The OEM Ford 3BAR sensor is $52.80 at Tasca.  It's the best price I could find when I ordered my back-up 3BAR:

A picture of the location is in the third pic in my hotpipe install thread at:

Very informative as always, BigMac.  Thanks.

Do you run 91 octane on your SHO?

Would love to see some videos of your car in action (speedo).  Your car is what I want mine to be like.

Unfortunately... AZ gas sux, and yes I use 91 octane... UGH!

I do carry the tuner on long trips with both 91 and 93 octane version on it... so I can take advantage of it if the time arises.

Thanks for the compliment.... I don't have vids at present... maybe soon

I gotta mail you some of that 110 octane we have here in MI Tom!

Ahmad.....
Thanks For the suggestion! Truth is that even if unleaded... I'm lazy, plus ... Short of running  the gas tank empty or carrying an extra hundred pounds by adding to a full tank, I can't figure a way to ensure mixing to a given octane # any way.

BTW... Email coming soon on the CAI we've been planning!
