dropped my 2013 SHO off at the dealer for repairs....

I had a clicking sound when backing up my inclined driveway. One trip to the dealer and they fixed it. Their transmission guy had a SHO so he did mine right by replacing the axel shaft ends or something like that but it fixed it. I think it was an updated version. Let me know if you want more info I can get more specifics from the dealer.

Just out of curiosity was this the sound you guys had?

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nmxC5wUOOxA

They applied the washer tsb and replaced my hubs, the washer tsb did nothing. When they replaced the hubs one side was ok for a while. The other was quieter. Now it's back louder than ever.

My clicking was similar but I didn't hear it turning the wheels only when backing up. The first dealer trip fixed it about 10k miles ago no problems. Gullo ford in Conroe TX.

I hear a clicking in my 12 as well when I back up with a load against the car, I just figured it was maybe the diff locking in but since I had a mystery oil spot on my wheel on the last trip back up here from TN , as well as it seams like there is no floor heat, and the pealing tail lights so I guess I will get it to a dealer to see what they say. I'm trying to remember if I have heard the same clicking when I try to push the car through the brakes too... maybe I will see if it does it tomorrow.

Just a note, you really can't hear the sound with the windows up. From the inside if the car. I only started to notice it when I had my windows down.

My dealer is putting in a call to Ford, after hearing about our discussion here he thinks it's BS also. I'll let you know if anything comes of it.

I installed the thrust washer, Ford part BB5Z-7G273-B, on my right side and the clicking is gone.

In order to disconnect the strut from the knuckle without removing the knuckle, I took a second floor jack and a 4x4 piece of wood cut about 20" long, and jacked up under the spring perch on the strut to compress the spring and shorten the strut. The job took about 20 minutes using air tools.

The part was $2.60 at my local Ford dealer parts department, which is open on Saturdays.

They can tell if the pcm was flashed if they dig deep enough.  Don't know about the "being tuned" part.

The best way to elaborate it is just like your computer, laptop they can check internally from your hardrive, the same goes for your vehicle, everything is stored in the ECM,then it makes a record when it was re-flashed,when they pull the info they will be able to tell if you re-flashed it back to the stock tune, there could be a debate if your the original owner or not?????????????????????
