Heated seats stopped working

Anyone ever have their heated/cooled seats stop working? When I turn them on with the MFT nothing happens, I do not hear the fans running like usual. The wife really enjoys the heated seats in the winter and I really enjoy the cooled seats in the summer.

Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated as I have read the manual and it says to diagnose with ford specific tools and I do not like any of my nearby dealers as they are always trying to up sell something.

I believe it is both sides. I suppose this weekend I will turn them on and then put the seats up in the air to see if I can hear the fans. I remember when the cooled portion was one the fans were audible, but not obnoxious.

If it's both I would check the fuse. It controls both seats.
I remember reading someone on taurusfourm found a broken wire on the driver side seat cushion and soldered the wire back together, but it was only the driver side not working.

So I suppose the seats would show as on, in the MFT but could be the fuse. I will check the fuse this weekend. I need to find a reasonable dealer in the area. Thank you very much for the response.

Found the Taurusclub write up.
It's for a 2010-12 though. Should be pretty similar for newer.

Well, I went and checked the fuse, it is fine. Took it out and checked continuity seemed just fine. I also looked at the connections below the seats and they both look fine. Any other ideas?

Heated steering wheel work?  Scott due update your signature with your current vehicle and any mods you may have, thanks.  Z

ZSHO yes my heated steering wheel does work. Sorry about the signature, it should be updated now. My SHO is stock out of the box.

I would try removing the ground (negative)cable from the battery for at least "five" min and see if that helps, you might loose your settings but worth a shot.  Z

Maybe the control module?

Just curious, do none of them work (heated/cooled driver, heated/cooled passenger, heated rears)?

I would think that info could help you to diagnose the problem as well.

If you have extended warranty hopefully it will be covered.
Her's a diagram of the seat and Best of luck to ya.  Z

VERIFY BJB fuse 28 (30A) is OK. If OK, CARRY OUT the network test using a scan tool and VERIFY network communication of the FCIM and Dual Climate Controlled Seat Module (DCSM). REFER to Section 418-00 to diagnose a module communication or network concern. If OK, CARRY OUT the Dual Climate Controlled Seat Module (DCSM) self-test and RETRIEVE any DTCs. If any DTC is present, REFER to the Dual Climate Controlled Seat Module (DCSM). VERIFY the touchscreen operation. If the touchscreen does not operate correctly, REFER to Section 415-00B or Section 415-00C to diagnose the touchscreen. If OK, INSTALL a new Dual Climate Controlled Seat Module (DCSM). REFER to Dual Climate Controlled Seat Module (DCSM) in this section.

Well it looks like I need to bring it by the dealer then. That's what I read in the shop manual that they would use a scan tool to read the dtc's if any. It looks like if there are DTC's they start going through pin tests. I think my extended warranty went out at 60k and we are at 71k now. Figures warranty goes away and stuff starts going loopy.

You mean powertrain warranty went out at 60K?  That does not cover all this stuff :(  Yeah, it really sucks.  BUT, have you scanned for DTCs with Forscan Lite and a suitable OBD adapter that can do HSCAN and MSCAN buses?  That should pick up any UXXXX codes these modules throw.
