I installed my hot pipes today with the TIAL BOV and I'm curious if maybe the spring is too heavy??  The BOV has the white spring and it seems as if my wastegates are dumping a lot of the pressure. I uploaded a video under the hood while driving. I should have marked the BOV slide with a marker. Anyone have thoughts or if it's working correctly??  Thanks in advance

Yes, it is used as well. All were in excellent shape. Other than the paint but I fixed that. And I understand about it opening after getting out of boost.  I just feel like it should be opening more often and the slide opening farther.  I feel as if I'm getting back feed through the turbos by the way it sounds. Sometimes if I pedaled it a certain way I would get that sound with the stock blow off valves like if they didn't open.  That's why I was curious. When I get back from vaca I'm gonna re route the vacuum to see if it's the same and pulling enough.

That actually was my next suggestion to re-route the vacuum hose.  Z

Thats where i would pull vac from.....whats the point of re routing?...wierd how the valve opening is not in sync with the throttle lift

Cai's often make their own blow off valve sounds.....almost looks like the spring isnt heavy enough but that's unlikely....should be pretty universal...boost actually help hold the valve closed And vac helps it open
 
Yes, everything is tight and sealed. It closes as it should but doesn't seem to open like I imagine it should. I will try just running the line straight over to the BOV to see if there is a diff.  And maybe get new hose clamps as I just have the squeeze clamps.  That totally just hit me as being a possible problem. Haha. Duuuuhhhhhh...... Damn you squeeze clamps!!!!  We shall see. Just getting on a plane now for FL so I can't look. Arg
 
Why are you not running straight to the bov?...shouldnt matter tho ...people have pretty elaborate vac hoses with boost solenoids and bov's and such as long as you get your reference from the right place....spring clamps are fine ...looks like everything uses hose barb ends...often u dont even need clamps with hose barbs and correct size vac hose
 
Didn't mean to confuse ya.  It goes straight to the BOV. However I have it bend n run down the side of the intake and under the throttle body to the BOV.  I think I just found out it may have a yellow spring in it. I have to look n see what psi it's rated at.
 
The routing doesnt matter......you pick spring based on vacuum at idle...should want the spring that rated for 18-20 inhg or negative 11ish psi
 
I am going to be installing mive very soon but today after some quick analysis noticed that the bolt for the vacuum hose adapter on the Tial bov is hollowed out at one point/section leading me to believe that you may to have this facing the outlet you connect the vacuum line to,so i marked it with a marker so i could align it correctly when tightening the bolt in order to achieve full vacuum from the outlet.  Z

That's just a banjo bolt. You don't have to orient the bolt in any specific direction. Just tighten it down.
