2013 SHO PP Or No PP

I wouldn't necessarily say that the Non-PP offers less performance.

There has been no definitive distinctions in the gear ratio differences (2.77 for the Non-PP, versus the 3.16 for the PP pkg) as it relates to overall performance.

Bar none, the biggest differences between the two pkg's (at least for 2013 model years, and beyond) is that the PP pkg option includes all the auxiliary coolers for the trans, the oil, and the ptu.

Adding those, allows you essentially to have a true, track ready car. As FMC has so touted.

The additional differences beyond the above, are the better brake pads, & slightly better suspension. Those are the biggest differences.

But as the 1st person to retro-fit the auxiliary coolers onto a Non-PP pkg SHO (of which, the changes are easily performed) I can attest that the differences then become neglible.

Some of us 2010-2012 owners (both Non-PP & PP) have shown on the track, that there are no differences in performance between the two.

What we really need would be dynos and time slips stock vs. stock.  Pretty sure the dynos would be too close to call.  The lower gearing of the PP may launch better if you get it all to the ground but what happens after you've wound out first and second?  I don't think the gearing helps any after that.

After I got home last night with the car, one of my daughters friends has a 2013 SHO non PP with Livernois's tune on it and a drop in K&N filter. He came by the house and let me take that for a ride, now stock the car is pretty peppy but night and day compared to a tuned vehicle. I have my tuner ordered already along with a thermostat and plug. I should be wrenching on the car next week with less than 500 mile it. Gotta love modding cars.

love my PP and I recall talking to the guys at LMS and when I ordered my tuner I was told they noticed the PP cars responded better to the tune what ever that means. Honsetly though I'd probably trade my stiffer PP suspension for a non PP suspension. It rides a little too harsh for my daily driver. I'll never autocross the car so I'll never take advantage of it's suspension anyway. Now here and there it is nice to take a corner with but not really worth the bouncy / harsh daily ride.

ACC>PP.  ACC is amazing, worth every penny.

that and turbo cars don't need gearing like NA cars do.  the car has long gears, and throwing a 3.16 RP in it does not change the performance.

the extra coolers are nice, but as its been said those can be added.

I almost never use my cruise control period in fact I don't even think I've used it with my SHO in the 7 months I've had the car so the ACC certainly isn't much for me to miss. I have more fun playing with the paddle shifters on the highway than the cruise control lol

I guess I don't understand why "...turbo cars don't need gearing like NA cars do."

Same gearing question as SRT.  :please:

I use ACC every day on my commute.  Phx traffic on surface streets is fast.  I set it at 55 and set my distance, then just steer and brake for stoplights 'cuz ACC does the rest.  If I'm "pleasure driving" that's another story. >:D

I just orders the tuner actually Livernois's black Friday special, intake, thermostat, plugs and tuner. Hopefully I'll get it by the end of the week and let the modding begin.

While there may be a grip stickiness difference with the leather wrap, I never understood putting a porous soft material on the steering wheel....        :dunno:        and also on the gear shift? places handled the most in cars.

Those foam steering wheels are going to be filthy fast.  I like my perforated leather.  Matches the seat too.
