2015-2016 Expedition/Navigator – Blower Motor Fluctuation When Coolant Temperature Is Below 122F (50C)

Some 2015-2016 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may exhibit noticeable blower motor speed fluctuations when the engine is cold or as the engine is warming up to normal operating temperature.

This is most likely to occur when the coolant temperature is below 122 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius.)

Reprogram the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning Module (HVAC) to the latest calibration using IDS release 105.01 or higher.

Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates.

FORD RECALLS 2018 EXPEDITION AND LINCOLN NAVIGATOR SUVS

January 27, 2018 — Ford is recalling 363 model year 2018 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs with second-row power windows that may not automatically reverse if fingers or other objects are pinched by the windows.

According to federal safety standards for power windows, the windows should immediately reverse to prevent injuries.

The automaker blames certain second-row window control modules that were manufactured with incorrect electronic components, but Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with the window problems.

The 2018 Ford Expeditions were built November 27, 2017, to December 9, 2017, and the 2018 Lincoln Navigators were built November 27, 2017, to December 7, 2017.

About 361 of the SUVs are in the U.S. and two are in Canada.

Ford and Lincoln dealers will replace the second-row window electronic control modules.

The recall is expected to begin February 5, 2018. Owners of 2018 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs may contact Ford at 866-436-7332.

SSM 47126 – 2018 Expedition/Navigator – Lack Of A/C Cooling – No Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) – Built On 16-Dec-2017 And Through 6-Feb-2018

Some 2018 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on 16-Dec-2017 and through 6-Feb-2018 may exhibit a lack of A/C cooling with no associated DTCs.

Do not install an A/C machine or A/C pressure gauges for any reason.

These vehicles may contain an R1234YF refrigerant that is contaminated and may damage a standard R1234YF recovery machine if installed.

Do not attempt any repairs associated with A/C recovery on these vehicles.

Engineering is investigating, monitor OASIS for updates.

PROGRAM TERMS

This is a one-time repair program and DOES NOT apply to vehicles outside of New Vehicle Limited Warranty.  Coverage is automatically transferred to subsequent owners.

REASON FOR THIS PROGRAM

This program provides special service instructions, loaner equipment, and rental assistance to expedite the repair of affected vehicles equipped with R-1234yf A/C refrigerant, which may be contaminated.

NOTE: DO NOT connect an A/C recovery machine or pressure gauges to the vehicle unless directed by this article, as damage to the equipment may result.

SERVICE ACTION

If a vehicle equipped with R-1234yf refrigerant, with a build date between January 2, 2018 and February 6, 2018, exhibits a lack of A/C cooling with no associated DTCs, or requires recovery of R-1234yf A/C refrigerant to complete a service repair, dealers are to obtain the equipment from Ford Motor Company necessary to evacuate the A/C system.  Once the refrigerant has been evacuated, dealers will replace the A/C components identified in this bulletin and recharge the system following the instructions in Attachment III.  This includes, but is not limited to damage caused by collision or other.  This service must be performed at no charge to the vehicle owner.

REASON FOR THIS SAFETY RECALL

In the affected vehicles, the high-pressure fuel pump flange weld may crack, allowing the highpressure fuel pump to move while the engine is running.  Movement of the high-pressure fuel pump can cause the fuel tubes to leak.  A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of a fire.

SERVICE ACTION

Before demonstrating or delivering any new in-stock vehicles involved in this recall, dealers are to replace the high-pressure fuel pump.  This service must be performed on all affected vehicles at no charge to the vehicle owner.  Parts to repair this condition are currently not available in sufficient quantities to service all of the affected vehicles.  Until parts are available to repair all vehicles, dealers should only repair unsold vehicles with a signed sales contract.

OWNER NOTIFICATION MAILING SCHEDULE

Owner letters are expected to be mailed the week of July 16, 2018.  Dealers should repair any affected vehicles that arrive at their dealerships, whether or not the customer has received a letter.

PLEASE NOTE:

Federal law requires dealers to complete this recall service before a new vehicle is delivered to the buyer or lessee.  Violation of this requirement by a dealer could result in a civil penalty of up to $21,000 per vehicle.  Correct all vehicles in your new vehicle inventory before delivery.

SSM 47385 – 2018 Expedition/Navigator – 3.5L EcoBoost – Oil Pan Leak – Built On Or Before 26-Feb-2018

Some 2018 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or before 26-Feb-2018 may exhibit an oil leak from the oil pan RTV seal.

Replace the oil pan following the procedure in Workshop Manual (WSM) Section, 303-01.

After removing the oil pan, it is suggested to allow the crankcase to drain overnight to minimize the chance of contaminating the sealing rail.

Prepare the engine sealing surface following the procedure in WSM Section, 303-00.

Proper usage of the Motorcraft® Metal Surface Prep Wipes is critical.

If possible, allow the new RTV sealant to cure for 4 hours before refilling the engine with oil.

Correctly following the WSM procedures is critical.

Skipping or improperly completing steps may result in repeat oil pan leaks.

SSM 47365 – 2018 F-150/Navigator/Expedition – Equipped With 3.5L EcoBoost – Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) DTC P0365 And/Or P0369

Some 2018 F150, Navigator and Expedition vehicles equipped with 3.5L EcoBoost engine may experience malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illumination with Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) DTC P0365 and/or P0369.

This may be due to low engine oil level, low engine oil pressure or damaged variable camshaft timing (VCT) phasers.

Before performing Powertrain Control and Emissions Diagnostics (PC/ED) Manual diagnostics, inspect the engine oil level and evaluate any abnormal VCT noise conditions.

If engine oil level is correct, and no unusual engine noises are present,proceed with normal PC/ED diagnostics test PPT’DR’.

Service Procedure

1. Was the vehicle built on or before 8-Dec-2017?
(1). Yes – proceed to Step 2.
(2). No – this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-03.

2. Remove the fuel filler door. Refer to WSM, Section 501-03.

3. Using a soft cloth, lay the fuel filler door down so the inside surface is facing up.

4. Locate the raised rectangular area on the inside surface of the fuel filler door. (Figure 1)

5. Using a small rotary grinding tool or equivalent, grind away the raised material in this area.

6. Remove material until the raised area is flat to the entire adjacent surface.

7. Reinstall fuel filler door to vehicle. Refer to WSM, Section 501-03.

SSM 47257 – 2018 F-150/Expedition/Navigator/Transit/Explorer – Malfunction Indicator Illuminated (MIL) With Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P025A

Some 2018 F-150, Expedition, Navigator, Transit and Explorer vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with DTC P025A stored in the powertrain control module (PCM).

This may be due to an intermittent or partial disconnect of the harness to the fuel pump driver module (FPDM) connector.

Confirm FPDM connector (F-150 C4336, Expedition/Navigator C433, Transit C433, Explorer C3239) is fully seated priorto performing PC/ED diagnostics or replacing any components.

FORD EXPEDITIONS AND LINCOLN NAVIGATORS RECALLED DUE TO SEAT ISSUES.

NOVEMBER 17, 2018 — A Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator recall will have dealers inspect and repair problems with the second-row center bench seats in about 38,000 SUVs.  Z

Model year 2018 Ford Expeditions and 2018 Lincoln Navigators may be missing J-channel reinforcement brackets in the second-row center seat track assemblies.

The missing J-channel brackets may allow the seat to move and fail to hold an occupant in a crash. In fact, Ford is telling owners to move the seatbacks to the furthest positions away from the front of the SUVs.

The recalled 2018 Ford Expeditions were manufactured in Kentucky between March 14, 2017, and August 18, 2018. The 2018 Lincoln Navigators were also built in Kentucky, but those SUVs were built between March 31, 2017, and August 18, 2018.

Nearly 35,000 of the recalled Ford Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators are in the U.S., 1,900 SUVs are in Canada and 955 in Mexico.

According to the automaker, no crashes or injuries have been reported due to the defects, but Ford dealers will need to replace the center seat frame assemblies if one or both brackets are missing. ..

2019 LINCOLN NAUTILUS RECALL ISSUED FOR 2,700 SUVS
Lincoln SUVs have problems with the hands on/off systems that may not alert drivers of trouble. Z

JANUARY 19, 2019 — A 2019 Lincoln Nautilus recall has been ordered by Ford for nearly 2,700 vehicles equipped with lane-centering assist and adaptive front steering.

The automaker says there are problems with the hands on/off detection systems used to alert drivers to get their hands on the steering wheels.

About 2,276 of the vehicles are located in the U.S. and another 371 are recalled in Canada, and all were built from September 5, 2018, to November 19, 2018.
