Finding that 2013 Lincoln MKS's can also be had for $30K or less.  Mmm.  Tempting.  I'm 32 and think I'm too young for a Lincoln but I think the MKS looks pretty sporty.  Decisions...

i'm in the same age range and sprung for the MKS over the SHO (2010).  i personally like the styling of the MKS and there not as many out on the road, so you have a sense of exclusivity.  and the car definitely looks sporty, as i have been challenged (and usually beat) by a number of drivers of BMWs, Acuras, Infinitis etc.  so it must look the part to others as well.

the 2013 MKS also has the exclusive adjustable suspension and would look great with the right set of aftermarket wheels!

MKS brothers unite!

Here are some 2013's I'm finding for around $30K.  Found a couple under $30K that had "minor damage" reported under CarFax.

'13 MKS Premium/Elite/Adapt/Roof 43k = $26.9:

'13 MKS Premium/Elite/Adapt/Roof 13k = $31.9 (clean carfax) Really like this one.

There are a few comforts I wish my car had come with, such as the remote start, massaging seats or adaptive cruise control. But those really are minor things compared to how much I DON'T regret getting my particular SHO.

Sometimes I wish I had a sportier, lighter RWD car. But I will just have to get one in addition to the SHO at some point, I'd also really want that car to be a convertible, so I couldn't have it in Michigan year-round anyway.
I wish I had remote start as well but that is an easy thing to get installed plus stock the SHO is cheaper and has more power on tap than the lincoln wouldn't change my mind again. I was actually looking at a g37x and SHO at the same time....IMO hands down goes to the SHO. Even the infiniti didnt match the refinement of teh sho even though the exhaust note was alot better stock... however that was taken care of with my Corsa :)

buying new, the SHO is cheaper; but buying used the MKS is actually cheaper (especially considiering equipment).  at least that was my experience.  i was more than happy to take advantage, but its really not a good thing that the MKS loses its value to such a degree.

also the MKS has the same power IIRC, when using premium.  the 350 hp figure is when using 87 octane.  the engine is the same, although the gearing can be different...

When I was shopping I really could've ended up with either. In my area the pricing was similar. The distinct advantage I saw with the lincoln is more sound deadening and the THX stereo.

absolutely man!  i agree 100%!  the THX system is ridiculously great, lol...

the MKS also feels a little 'tighter'/more solid to me, as far as rigidity is concerned (might be because of all the increased insulation thats adds a few hundred pounds to the MKS).  but you also pay for it with a non-folding rearseat...

Haha yep, see attached :D

If I recall correctly that's about 20 2x4x8's, with just one seat folded down, trunk closed.

YEAH!!!!!!!!!

p.s.  - no regrets at all either on my 2010 MKS Ecoboost.

I agree with Dave… best four doors out there now.

My son has a 2010 MKS, I have a 2013 SHO… the only differences we notice besides minor sheet metal treatments are the huge MKS sunroof (nice!), the adjustable suspension (sweet, but expensive shocks!), the seats may be better leather with more interior wrap (for the extra 10K MSRP it should be), and the THX certified sound system (definitely superior to the SHO… has one big sub in the rear deck, but still needs subwoofer improvement).  Using the decimeter,  admittedly in my phone, no apparent noise level differences. All the other options mentioned here... seats, etc, are on both cars.

Go either way … you will be happy!  I have no regrets on the purchase… nor does my son

Just remember though, if you want to go the fastest in an SHO, make sure to get the Performance Package.

Actually, while I don't want to start this discussion again, I chose non-PP because I wanted adaptive cruise control (not available on the PP model) and the stock difference in performance was nothing a tune and a few mods wouldn't equalize… crash's SHO is non-PP, modded, and I believe the fastest show recorded and if it is in the top 3

I don't care about the final drive, different pads, and whatever else...

What I think should sell the PP is the cooling upgrades. Especially seeing as the ridiculously limited quantity of oil in the PTU seems to overheat near continuously.

(I took out the list of cars or this would be a huge quote)

That silver one is an amazing deal, I would be all up on that. The black one is too much mileage in such a short period of time for my taste, my 2010 has only about 1500 more miles on it than that one, but that's just kind of personal preference. The middle one in the list appears to already be gone so I can't comment too much on it.

At 27, I don't feel too young to drive a Lincoln. I love my 2011 MKS with the EcoBoost Appearance Package. I did have a couple of minor issues when I first bought it, but they were covered by the warranty. They are also known problems, so there is a chance that they may have already been addressed if you buy used or buy a 2012+ car. For a car of its size, a SHO/MKS can moooooove!

The non-folding rear seat was a real deal breaker for me. I would have went with the MKS if that was part of the options.

it is a sacrifice, but the MKS was worth it IMO.

I ordered my MKS in the Summer of 2009 and at that time, my dealer was not discounting the SHO nearly as much as the MKS ecoboost.  There was not much difference in the final pricing.  I had a Lincoln LS with charcoal interior and wanted a lighter color interior and no light color choice was available with the SHO.

The MKS suspension is not tuned quite a sporty as the SHO, either - even the SHO without the PP.  That can be a positive or a negative depending upon your tastes.  Here in the frozen tundra of Minneapolis where streets are full of potholes, frost heaves and assorted road kill, I prefer a little softer suspension.

Just not many 2013 SHO/MKS's around me for around $30K.  I'll just have to be patient or buy a one way ticket once my lease is near the end.

Thanks all :D

I wouldn't necessarily mind a lot of mileage in a short timeframe, because that means it likely didn't see a lot of city driving.

lol, love the $hit talking!

How do the steering wheel buttons work for presets and channel surfing in satellite radio?

I read some review that it was a two button operation to go through presets?
