3 Bar sensor

Looking at the picture on the sensor I posted, the numbers are different.  I purchased mine from Torrie

You want the part number of the sensor at the front of the intake.

the part number I posted above is $20.00 from a Ford dealer at 10% over cost. That's the part number they gave me but it may be v6 but not ecoboost v6 ??

bigmoneycloser the part you're showing has a different number on the box as the part itself ????????

Seems to be too cheap, probably a 2 bar and for the f150s.  The part ending in B is what is needed for the Flex/SHO/X and should be closer to $100 each (after discount).

Good to know!  How do their prices compare to Fred Bean Ford or Levittown Ford SuperCenter?  Bean is a sponsor on this forum, and Levittown on the Ford Edge forum.  Shipping is the biggest cost obstacle, so you have to order enough to minimize the shipping "overhead" :)

I'm not sure I think Tousley is in GA and I'm in South TX. Shippping is usually reasonable especially since it offsets some of the cost by not paying tax on the out of state orders too

the SVTperformance forums are really nice but has a smaller section dedicated to the SHO / ecoboost.

Torrie discounts Ford parts.  You might find a cheaper source, but you know you're getting the right part when you order from Torrie.  Same from Livernois. The numbers on these sensors are very similar.  I have a damaged 2 bar sensor and the 3 bar sensor  in a box & numbers are almost identical except for last letters.  The 3 bar sensors are made in Germany.  It's not like you are going to save big $$$.  Maybe $10-$20.. at most.

Let me know if I understand correctly:

The item #4 in this picture is a 3 bar MAP sensor that my SHO came with

And the item #9F479 in the next picture is originally a 2 bar MAP that I need to swap with the 3 bar I just purchased

Yes Pelo.  You are swapping out the sensor on top center of the intake manifold.

The 3 bar sensor by itself doesn't mean more boost.  What it does is allow your tuning specialist to tune your car correctly at boost levels above 1 bar. ( roughly 15 psi).  So... this means that your stock turbos or custom turbos can be tuned to provide higher boost levels, depending on other mods and fuel choice.
